31 Foot Steel Vehicle Barge

This is a general purpose barge ideally suited as a car ferry with its big 7.9' (2.4 m) loading ramp. It is built from 4 mm steel plate over solid round bar chines and will take a lot of hard work. Its main deck is 14.8' x 10.8' (4.50 m x 3.28 m) which will allow loading of quite large vehicles or payloads.
It is a displacement hull with single chines and Vee bottom, so will handle rough conditions with ease. Good skegs protect the twin propellers when in shallow water. Twin 28 B.H.P. diesels make it very manoeverable, an essential feature for a vessel of this type and economical.
There is a big wheelhouse/galley, raised to give excellent vision for the helmsman. It is fitted with an L-shaped settee while the galley has sink and stove.
